Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus are among the stars who made appearances at the pre-Grammy celebrations in Los Angeles this weekend, despite being snubbed by the Recording Academy.
Mother Monster performed at the annual MusiCares Gala on Friday, taking part in the tribute to honoree Carole King. The Hollywood Reporter says she blew the audience away with a cover of Carole's "You've Got A Friend."
The pop star shared that the song had been a comfort to her in hard times, and thanked Carole for being an inspiration to female songwriters. Sara Bareilles, Alicia Keys, Steven Tyler and Jason Mraz all performed as well.
On Saturday, Miley took the stage at Clive Davis' annual pre-Grammy party. She had the cameras clicking wearing a lilac fur coat, singing "Wrecking Ball" and Dolly Parton's "Jolene" for the star-studded room of music's biggest stars.
Other performers included Lorde, Robin Thicke, Jennifer Hudson and Fantasia.
