The students of Grand Valley State University are fighting for their right to make viral videos parodying Miley Cyrus.
Until recently, the Michigan school was home to a large pendulum statue, similar in shape and size to the one featured in Miley's video for "Wrecking Ball."
Earlier this week, the steel pendulum was removed after several students climbed onto it, naked, to take pictures and videos mimicking the star.
In an interview with local ABC affiliate WZZM, the university's associate vice president of facilities services said the school decided to reexamine the "structural integrity of the installation."
Since its removal, some students have gathered outside the building where it was located to stage protests. The pendulum was installed at the university in 1995.
