Many dance music artists have been sending their support and condolences following the death of "Godfather of House Music" Frankie Knuckles. Frankie played a very important role in developing house music in Chicago, and while in the Windy City, David Guetta paid tribute to the late DJ during his show there.

After stopping the music for a few minutes, Guetta got on the mic to say, "I started to DJ a very long time ago when I was 14, and I was playing funk and disco, and one day I discovered house music and it changed my life." He went on to say, "the biggest pioneer was Frankie Knuckles, so this night is for him," before playing some of Frankie's music as an image of him remained on the front of the DJ booth.
